the newtown house

Designed for a young creative couple, the existing terrace was a dark rabbit warren and in need of a complete re-think. The emphasis was to maximise natural light which involved cutting in a two storey light void into the centre of the house and adding a lane way sky light. This allowed north light to flood deep into the interior. An architectural language of folding roof plains, opening up to the north, was created.
